Russell Sabin was born in California, raised in Oregon,
and lived 17 years in Washington State. He spent the last 28 years in
Hawaii where he was a successful Architect. His architectural
renderings and watercolor landscapes of Hawaii were well known
throughout the Islands. In 1998 he retired and moved to the small rural
ranching community of Olney, Texas and now lives in Albuquerque since
2004. He has held Architectural licenses in California, Washington, and
Hawaii. Russell Sabin received his art and architectural training at
Columbia University in New York City, Park College in Missouri, and at
the University of Oregon. His Paintings have been exhibited in
California, Washington, Hawaii, and now Texas, having showings in
Museums, Art Galleries, and private Art Shows. Since his retirement
from the Architectural field, he is now fulfilling a life long dream of
being a full time Artist. His current work has earned him many awards
in shows in the Southwest. Being raised on the West Coast, Russell
Sabin has always had an abiding interest in Western Art. Many of his
current paintings reflect this interest in ranching, the lore of the
American Cowboy, and the Native Americans of the West. His daily
dedication to painting has improved his skills and promises to lead him
in the future to more expressive and meaningful paintings of the
American West. He has just completed a series of Mission Churches
in New Mexico. One of those is featured on this web site.
